Vitruvian’s creed is founded in passion for beauty and innovation. Our passion for the unknown can only be realized through our team of industry leading engineers with an expertise in mathematics and applied sciences.
Our brand identity is inspired by the Vitruvian Theories of Beauty by Marcus Vitruvius established in antiquity. Our design collective focuses on three central tenets for superior structural design: firmitas (strength), utilitas (functionality), and venustas (beauty). The theory of venustas is infinite in definition. However, Vitruvius states feel a timeless notion of beauty can observed through the 'truth of nature', that nature's designs are based on universal laws of proportion and symmetry. The design philosophy of biomimicry is not novel in our modern age. However, the seamless integration of venustas with fimitas and utilitas is a vastly unexplored world, filled with limitless opportunities to collaborate with artists, scientists and engineers for truly timeless structures.
We follow according to Vitruvius, that a vision should aim to unquestionable perfection of nature. If a building is to create a sense of eurythmia - a graceful and tangible atmosphere - it is essential that we harmoniously balance all three of these vital design pillars. The Vitruvian spirit is to masterfully apply known engineering and construction practices but to never shy from the unknown.
