As well as mainstream construction materials, such as timber, steel and concrete, we work with a wide selection of other materials which has expanded our knowledge and exercised our ability to approach unusual problems and solve them in a practical and considered way.
Our work with tensile membrane systems is one of many industry specialties. After working on our first fabric project 12 years ago we have become one of the industry’s leading engineering consultancies. As well as general structural building design, we carry out inspections and surveys of existing buildings, design for temporary works, and a wide range of structural design engineering services.

Vitruvian combines the specialty engineering skills developed through our collaborative involvement with novel projects with the performance expertise of our envelope specialists to develop unique and expressive facades. From initial concept to full completion, Vitruvian designs, evaluates, prepares designs solutions, and provides construction administration for exterior building facade components, including roofs, walls, windows/glazing, waterproofing and more.
With the rising level of complexity in modern façades practices, the design, procurement, engineering and execution process often requires specialist knowledge to design custom façade elements. Our façade team can help guide a project to define the highest quality facade aesthetics and performance using our strong background in material research, specialty analysis, precise detailing, and market knowledge.
Vitruvian works diligently to define our façade practices through original problem solving, analytical execution, innovative software knowledge and interdisciplinary collaboration for the most challenging aesthetic aspirations presented by a client. We aim to reach beyond the status quo whether we are tasked with the design of a glass curtain wall or a passively kinetic parametric custom metal panel rainscreen.

Engineer of Record and is primarily responsible for the design of the Project and provides construction administration services required of the A-E (except for such design professionals contracting directly with the Owner for specific scopes of design services). References to the Project Architect or Architect shall mean the A-E, except as otherwise specifically provided in the Contract Documents. The A- E is required by agreement to work closely with the Contractor, which should facilitate performance of Contractor’s duties and responsibilities under this Agreement.
