Intended to suggest a garment, the artwork consists of a 100-foot tall oval-shaped tower that is wrapped in multiple layers of a plastic chainmail fabric that ripples in the wind like water. Enagua is the Spanish word for a garment traditionally worn under a dress to give it extra body. The title is also a play on the words En Agua, (in water), referring the liquid motion of the chainmail in the wind and the fact that the entire site lies just a few feet above current sea level. The tower was realized in collaboration with Johnson/Fain Architects and was completed in 2015. - Ned Kahn
